ABOUT · INTRODUCTION
About
I write code, build things, and write a few other things.
I'm ArvelVale, a senior computer science student working on AI applications and full-stack development. From idea to launch, I like to walk the whole chain myself: design, code, deploy, and then look back at what went wrong.
My road has not been smooth. In my last year of middle school, stuck at home during the pandemic, I taught myself from online courses on Bilibili and climbed from the middle of the class into the top ten. In high school I worked my way up to first in the class, and before the college entrance exam I went home and studied alone for a stretch behind closed doors — and it still did not come out the way I wanted. In my first year of university I switched from mechanical engineering to computer science on the strength of my grades, and my CET-6 score went from 349 on the first try to 475. After a few ups and downs I kept one habit: when I want to learn something, I build something with it first.
I am fascinated by how to let AI genuinely act for people without people losing control. That is why I built a session manager, a dev-flow agent and a companion app, and why I write about it here.
I lean introverted, and I tend to think a thing all the way through alone before I act. What I have been practicing for the last two years is the opposite: showing my work to other people earlier. Hackathons, open source, and posting on Bilibili and X are all part of that practice. I believe the seed is mine, but it has to grow in soil. I wrote about that in Self as Seed.

What I work on
AI apps and agents
A dev-flow agent, a session cockpit, a companion app. I care about whether decisions can be seen and writes can be stopped.
Full stack and deployment
Front end, back end and operations, all by myself: React, TypeScript, Python, FastAPI, Tauri, plus Linux and static-site deployment.
Writing and visuals
Articles and visualizations to make what I learn clear: software design, architecture, how AI works, and now and then reading notes and the I Ching.
Videos made with code
Animations, explainers and short dramas drawn in code, with AI for voice and music. One of my videos on Bilibili passed 10,000 views; the series I am building is still very early.
Background
-
Switching majors
I moved from mechanical engineering to computer science in the first term of my first year, and caught up from scratch.
-
Community and contests
At the Datawhale summer camp I was named one of the 20 most popular AI super-individuals; I won third prize at the WaytoAGI global hackathon; and I joined Yukesong and Nankesong S2. No prizes there, but I shipped something demoable every time.

AdventureX · July 2026, Hangzhou
As soon as the Cross-Strait contest ended, I flew straight from Chengdu to Hangzhou. I did not win a prize, but I met many people who build things, and it felt far better than campus contests. We built an AI companion that helps people sort out their thoughts. After the event I kept working on it, and it became Miaoling: an Android app and a website are out, and a HarmonyOS version is in progress.

NVIDIA DGX Spark Hackathon · September 2026
With a team I built KROVIN, a dev-flow agent running on DGX Spark: it reads Linear issues and Obsidian notes, then breaks down, plans, codes and syncs. I mainly handled the agent architecture, the skills design and the overall integration. Its decision layer logs which skill was chosen, which model was used and whether a tool was allowed as a measurable trace, so every step can be reviewed afterwards. We submitted on September 29.

Building
Team projects Qiguang and an LLM-powered lab-teaching assistant have won awards; since May 2026 I have been interning at a company that builds an AI teaching platform, working on the full stack. Personal projects are on the projects page.
-
Campus
Class psychology officer, youth league staff, head of publicity for a university cybersecurity club, and an outstanding volunteer in a remote-teaching program.
Awards
A selection. Team work is marked; years and names follow the certificates.

- Steve Jobs, Elon Musk, The Almanack of Naval Ravikant, Zen in the Art of Archery, Hidden Potential, Designing Your Life. I only started reading in my second year and want it to become a long-term habit.
- Travel
- I like traveling, and I like building things on the road. On the National Day holiday in 2026 I went to Xi'an, and when I came back I used code to turn my photos into a handscroll video that unrolls.
- Dreams
- I've written down dozens of dreams, thousands of words. I don't try to explain them; they are just fun.
- Other
- Anime, the British series Doctor Who, psychology, astronomy, and a little I Ching (two posts on it here).
What's next
- 01Become a bilingual who uses English comfortably
- 02After graduation, give my own products and content a serious try, and build something people really keep using
- 03Grow from an introvert toward an extrovert and meet more builders
